Pair of Halos Prospects to Play in Minor League All Star Game

The Los Angeles Angels hope to have more than one of their players participate in the mid-summer classic in July. Angels two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani already booked his ticket to Seattle, earning his third All-Star selection in his career, and Mike Trout will most likely make his way to the Pacific Northwest as well.

While their other major league players are in question, two of their minor leaguers are going to Seattle. It was announced that two of the Halos' top prospects, catcher Edgar Quero (No. 2) and infielder Kyren Paris (No. 8).

Quero is currently in the Angels Double-A team Rockey City Trash Pandas. With the Trash Pandas, he is slashing .244/.386/.333 with a .719 OPS, along with two homers, 27 RBIs, and 49 hits in 54 games. Quero was signed as a free agent in 2021, and thus far, he has looked like an absolute home run for the team.

On the other hand, Paris was selected by the Halos in 2019 with the 55th overall pick. He is only 21 years old and is also doing his part with the Trash Pandas. He is slashing .234/.354/.406 with a .760 OPS, 11 home runs, 29 RBIs, and 57 hits in 65 games. Paris moved up from last year's rankings by 11 spots and could be on the verge of being with the major league team.

These guys are electric, and we cannot wait to see them do their thing in Seattle for the Futures Game. We wish our guys the best and showcase their talent to the nation.
