Phillies Season in Review: Luke Williams

Outside of an exciting walk-off home run against the now World Champion Atlanta Braves on June 9, just his second game in the big leagues, what else do you remember from Luke Williams' season?

A whole lot of nothing, right?

Williams made his debut with the Philadelphia Phillies on June 8, where he picked up his first major league hit and run scored. It was a pretty exciting first couple of days for the 25-year-old and his family.

Following June 9, he finished the month with just a .614 OPS, two RBI, and seven strikeouts in 17 games. July was a lot of the same for Williams, who slashed a measly .222/.344/.222 in 32 plate appearances.

His August and September weren't much better, appearing in 19 games and making five starts, the Phillies' 2015 third round draft pick just couldn't quite harness the magic he created a few months ago. He batted just .174/.269/.174, with six strikeouts and three walks.

Overall, the utility man hailing out of California finished his debut season with a .245/.315/.316 slashline, 24 hits, eight runs scored, six RBI, and two stolen bases. And of course, one home run, which will always be a special moment for him.
