Phillies SS Trea Turner had hilarious reaction to Josh Jung homer

Mic'd-up athletes are all the rage these days and sometimes they capture entertaining reactions fans would not usually hear. Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Trea Turner provided one of those unique moments against the Texas Rangers during ESPN's first 2023 broadcast of Sunday Night Baseball.

In the field for the top of the second inning, Turner was chatting with commentators Karl Ravich, Eduardo Perez and David Cone when Rangers' third baseman Josh Jung changed the mood. Jung smashed a pitch from Bailey Falter over the right-center field wall and as the ball connected with Jung's bat, Turner instinctively bellowed, "Oh, no."

The Phillies aren't off to the hottest start as a team, dropping their first two games to the Rangers ahead of Sunday night's affair. However, Turner, the team's prized acquisition during the offseason, has been as-advertised, going 3-for-9 at the plate with a walk, an RBI and two triples to open his season.

A two-time All-Star, the 30-year-old Turner spent parts of the last three seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers before signing a massive free-agent deal with Philadelphia in December, inking a fully guaranteed 11-year, $300 million contract to join the defending National League Champions.

In 2022 with the Los Angeles, Turner bopped 21 home runs and drove in a career-high 100 RBI while slashing .298/.343/.466 over 160 games. Those fine efforts earned him his first career Silver Slugger award after the close of the season.
