The Minnesota Twins addressed their hole at the catcher position when they signed veteran backstop Christian Vazquez to a three-year deal.
The Twins later added veteran slugger Joey Gallo on a one-year, $11 million contract.
On Thursday, the Twins made a depth move at the catcher position when they signed 30-year-old Tony Wolters to a minor league deal.
The veteran catcher made his debut with the Colorado Rockies in 2016 and was with the team until 2021, when he joined the Chicago Cubs.
He spent the 2022 season with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Wolters appeared in just two games last season.

In two games with the Dodgers, Wolters had just four at-bats and did not get on base, nor did he drive in any runs.
His best season came in 2019 with the Rockies.
That year, the veteran catcher hit for a .262 average and managed to hit a home run while driving in 42 runs on the season.
He also had a solid season in 2016, his rookie year.
In that season, he hit .259 with three home runs and 30 RBI.
Wolters could potentially see action at the big-league level at various points during the 2023 season and could possibly have a chance to compete for a spot on the Twins Opening Day roster.
For his career, Wolters owns a .235 batting average and has a total of seven home runs and 123 RBI.
The Twins led the AL Central for much of the 2022 season, but collapsed down the stretch and finished with a 78-84 record.
