Watch: Bohm Makes Gold Glove Play for Phillies
USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Phillies are currently down 2-0 to the Texas Rangers, but it could have been much worse had it not been Alec Bohm in the second inning.

Rangers second baseman Marcus Semien was up to bat for the second time in as many innings. His first at-bat resulted in a leadoff home run for Texas. Semien appeared to have Zack Wheeler's number.

In the second inning he lined a sharp one down the left field line and Bohm laid out in a dive and caught it resulting in the second out. Had it made it past Bohm, Josh Smith who was in first very likely would have scored.

Bohm made incredible strides both at the plate and on defense last season and he continued to do just that this spring. Manager Rob Thomson said last postseason that Bohm developed more in a single season as a player than any other player he has ever coached.

Bohm is continuing to prove that this could just be his year.
