White Sox Add 2 Veteran Pitchers to Group of Non-Roster Invites
Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

The Chicago White Sox had a couple of late additions to their non-roster invite group. Beyond the initial wave of 26 players with non-roster invites, pitchers Corey Knebel and Dominic Leone will join the Sox in Glendale for 2024 Spring Training.

Knebel, a one-time All-Star, last pitched in the big leagues in 2022. For his career, the right-hander owns a 3.26 ERA and 1.239 WHIP in 306.2 innings out of the bullpen.

In his last MLB action, Knebel had a decent showing for the Philadelphia Phillies when he compiled a 3.43 ERA across 44.2 innings. However, he suffered a capsule tear in his shoulder that cut his 2022 season short and kept him on the shelf for 2023. Now, the 32-year-old will look to bounce back with an invite to White Sox Spring Training.

Leone, a fellow veteran righty, spent time in four organizations last season. He appeared in 51 MLB games and logged a 4.67 ERA across 54 innings with the New York Mets, Los Angeles Angels, and Seattle Mariners.

For his career, Leone has a 3.82 ERA and 1.380 WHIP in 410 innings. The 32-year-old is no stranger to moving around as he'll look to make the White Sox his ninth MLB club in his 11th big-league season.

With Knebel and Leone in the mix, the White Sox have 68 players in camp with 28 of them on non-roster invites.
