White Sox Release Stephen Piscotty

Another Triple-A project has come and gone as the Chicago White Sox released Stephen Piscotty from his minor-league deal on Wednesday.

The veteran outfielder signed with the Sox organization in April and played 51 games for the Charlotte Knights. Piscotty slashed .232/.330/.390 with six home runs, 10 doubles, and 32 RBIs in 206 plate appearances.

Piscotty, who spent parts of the previous eight seasons in the big leagues, was always a long shot to make it to Chicago. During his time in Charlotte, he saw the likes of Clint Frazier, Billy Hamilton, Adam Haseley, and Jake Marisnick get the call to the show instead.

And with Trayce Thompson back in the fold, the White Sox seemingly have their "Quad-A" type outfield slot filled.
