White Sox SS Tim Anderson suspended one game for making obscene gesture toward fan

According to ESPN's Jesse Rogers , Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson has been suspended one game by MLB for making an obscene gesture toward fans in Cleveland earlier this week. 

On Wednesday, the Cleveland Guardians swept the White Sox in a doubleheader. Anderson was jeered by some fans during game one and retorted with an offensive hand gesture. Unfortunately for Anderson, cameras were on him at the time to pick up the act. 

Anderson was suspended for the first two games of this season for an incident that occurred at the end of last season. 

On September 29 against the Detroit Tigers, benches cleared, and Anderson allegedly made contact with umpire Tim Timmons.

This season, Anderson is batting .333 with 12 hits, a home run and five RBI in nine games. 

A first-round pick by the White Sox in 2013, Anderson has spent seven seasons in Chicago. He made his first All-Star appearance last season and won his first Silver Slugger Award in 2020.

In 702 games, Anderson has a .287 batting average with 92 home runs and 293 RBI.
