10-Year NBA Veteran Reportedly Signs With G League Team
USA TODAY Sports

Dewayne Dedmon played 38 games last season for the Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers (he also appeared in one NBA playoff game with the 76ers).

The veteran center averaged 5.2 points and 3.5 rebounds per contest while shooting 51.0% from the field.

This summer, he became a free agent and still remains available to be signed by any team in the league.

On Friday, Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reported that Dedmon will sign a deal in the G League.

Via Scotto: "The Los Angeles Clippers are adding 10-year NBA veteran Dewayne Dedmon to their G League roster, league sources told @hoopshype. Dedmon has started 210 games in his career."

Dedmon has played ten seasons in the NBA for the Atlanta Hawks, Orlando Magic, Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs, Sacramento Kings, Philadelphia 76ers and Golden State Warriors.

His career averages are 6.3 points and 5.8 rebounds per contest while shooting 52.6% from the field and 33.6% from the three-point range in 515 regular season games (he has also appeared in 31 NBA playoff games).

Arguably the best season of his career came with the Hawks in 2019 when he averaged 10.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.1 blocks per contest while shooting 49.2% from the field and 38.2% from the three-point range.

The Clippers will be playing without center Mason Plumlee for an extended period, so Dedmon could be an excellent addition to their bench.

In addition, the 34-year-old would make sense for a lot of teams who need size or veteran leadership in the locker room.
