Ed Davis was initially the 13th pick in the 2010 NBA Draft out of UNC by the Toronto Raptors.
Davis most recently played in the NBA during the 2021-22 season when he appeared in 31 regular season games for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
This summer, the 12-year veteran was a free agent, and Alberto De Roa of HoopsHype reports that he has signed with the Xinjiang Flying Tigers.
In addition to the Cavs and Raptors, Davis has also played with the Portland Trail Blazers, Memphis Grizzlies, Brooklyn Nets, Los Angeles Lakers, Utah Jazz and Minnesota Timberwolves.
He has career averages of 5.9 points and 6.4 rebounds per contest while shooting 56.7% from the field in 722 regular season games.
Davis also appeared in 33 NBA playoff games with averages of 3.2 points and 4.6 rebounds per contest while shooting 50.0% from the field.
At 34, he is no longer in his prime but could end up being one of the better players on the Flying Tigers.
While Davis was never an All-Star, he has had a very solid pro career and is a reliable veteran.
Therefore, he should still be a name to keep an eye on because an NBA team could look to add him to their bench at some point over the next few seasons.
Contending teams are typically in the market for experienced players to provide depth in preparation for a postseason run.
In 2019, Davis played a significant role in the Nets ending a three-year NBA playoff drought.
