Alex Caruso shades Grayson Allen over flagrant foul, injury

Chicago Bulls guard Alex Caruso is nearing a return to action nearly two months after fracturing his wrist after a Grayson Allen flagrant foul. Caruso insists he does not hold anything against Allen, but he doesn’t sound totally over the incident either.

Caruso said he was “over it” when discussing the play that led to his injury. He also said he was not bothered by the fact that Allen never reached out to him following the play, but seemed to hint that he didn’t expect any better from the Milwaukee Bucks guard.

“I mean, he is who he is, I am who I am, people are who they are,” Caruso said, via K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago. “I don’t know him that well. The only thing I know is from past history and instances, so that’s all I can really go off of.

“I really don’t know too much what you’re supposed to do in that case and situation in the NBA, if there’s unwritten rules about it. But I think people are who they are and you can’t really change that.”

When asked if he would have reached out to an opponent if he made a play that caused an injury, Caruso said he “probably wouldn’t just make that play to get to that point.”

Caruso may not be harboring any anger, but it certainly sounds like he expects nothing from Allen. The whole incident has led to a lot of criticism for the Bucks guard, so Caruso hardly has to pile on. If anything, his tone speaks for itself.
