Anthony Edwards praises Erik Spoelstra, ‘Heat Culture’ with Team USA at FIBA World Cup

Even players who aren't members of the Miami Heat appear to be buying in to the "Heat Culture" now.

The longstanding mantra that's stuck with the franchise since Erik Spoelstra became the head coach (and even prior in the eyes of many) has taken over at least one player on Team USA at the FIBA World Cup.

Breakout Team USA star Anthony Edwards discussed Spoelstra with exceptionally high praise recently in a breakdown revealed by Complex Sports.

“Spo’s been dope. Bringing a lot of energy, the Heat Culture. It’s exciting to see. His first day with the scout [team], I was like, 'OK, I see what they mean when they say Heat Culture.' He came with a lot of energy, getting right to the point. Super precise with the details," Edwards said of Spoelstra.

Edwards was a force during the team's exhibition stretch prior to the 2023 FIBA World Cup, and he scored 14 points in the team's opener after an up-and-down start to the game against New Zealand.

His ability to bounce back from a slow start in the first game of the World Cup was noteworthy and certainly had a bit of the "Heat Culture" feel behind it, but it was fun to see him give Miami's coach and the Team USA assistant some well-deserved praise.
