Bruce Brown, Nuggets agree to two-year contract worth over $13 million

The Denver Nuggets made one of the biggest headlines on Thursday night when they agreed to a record-breaking supermax contract extension with two-time MVP Nikola Jokic. Earlier this week, Denver made a significant two-for-two trade with the Washington Wizards, acquiring Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Ish Smith.

They made another move on Friday.

Brown was a key member of the Brooklyn Nets the last two seasons, stepping up during numerous absences of the team's "Big Three" of Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving. Harden was finally traded to the Philadelphia 76ers in February, Irving's future with the Nets is unclear even after opting in to his contract earlier this week, and the biggest and latest whopper is Durant requesting a trade out of Brooklyn.

With experience at the guard and forward position, Brown averaged a career-high 9.0 points last season to go with 4.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game over 72 contests (45 starts.) The 25-year-old Boston native also shot 50.6% from the field and a career-best 40.4% on three-point attempts and 75.8% from the free throw line.
