Devin Booker's Final Status for Suns-Celtics Revealed
Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The Phoenix Suns won't have the talents of Devin Booker tonight when they play host to the Boston Celtics according to The Arizona Republic's Duane Rankin.

It was confirmed by Suns coach Frank Vogel prior to the game, who said he tried to get his sprained ankle loose but Booker wasn't quite ready.

Booker was listed as questionable after initially suffering the injury last Saturday against the Houston Rockets. Booker rolled his ankle on teammate Royce O'Neale playing defense with 1:15 left in action and has missed the previous three games as a result.

O'Neale has started in Booker's place for all three matchups.

Vogel told reporters at Friday's practice Booker was doubtful before the official injury report saw him upgraded to his pre-game questionable status.

NBA on TNT's Chris Haynes reported on Tuesday that tonight was the earliest Booker could have returned from the injury, though he admitted making it back against the Celtics was a stretch but did add if Phoenix was in a postseason run, Booker would be on the floor.

The Suns themselves are on a two-game winning streak as they host arguably the best team in the league right now in Boston, who sit atop the Eastern Conference.

This season, Booker earned an All-Star nod and is currently averaging 27.5 points, 4.6 rebounds and 6.8 assists on nearly 50% shooting from the field.

Opening tip is slated for just past 6:30 PM Arizona time.
