The NBA has indeed changed over the years. When LeBron James first entered into the league, the game was centered into attacking the basket. The majority of points scored was focused on posting up. That was the priority of points scored. If a double team came, then the big man would pass it out to the open man. That open man more than likely being a guard or a forward would then pump fake to try to get the defender off their feet and take a mid range shot. That was considered a high percentage shot at that time. Now, everyone in the league can shoot the three ball effectively, including forwards and centers.

The Washington Wizard’s biggest offseason move last summer was the trade with Denver that included Monte Morris and Will Barton. Barton became the franchise leader in threes made in Denver during his tenure. The Wizards were hoping he could bring some of that magic to Washington but things didn’t quite work out the way they expected. It wasn’t a surprise to see him bought out and enter free agency.

Will Barton had many suitors. These suitors included the Philadelphia 76ers and the LA Lakers. However, whenever there’s a free agency update, the team that always signs the players are never the reported teams that are interested. Barton ended up signing with the Toronto Raptors. The fit there is perfect as he does something they desperately need, shoot the three effectively. Toronto runs a tight ship, so it will be interesting how he is used.
