Giannis Antetokounmpo Reportedly Tried Recruiting Nuggets Champion
USA TODAY Sports

Last season was arguably the best year of Reggie Jackson's basketball career. He reunited with his hometown state of Colorado and became a champion in the same season. That success brought him some attention in the off-season that very few know about.

According to a report from Harrison Wind from DNVR Sports, Giannis Antetokounmpo actually tried hard to recruit Reggie Jackson to the Milwaukee Bucks.

Despite Giannis' efforts, Reggie Jackson ultimately re-signed with the Denver Nuggets. With Jackson re-signing, he ended up staying in Denver during the off-season and actually had the chance to enter a training camp with the team. The end result is Jackson being much more useful to the ball club this season than he was last season.

Last season, Reggie Jackson averaged 7.9 points and 3.1 assists on 38/28/83 shooting. So far in nine games this season, Jackson is averaging 9.6 points and 3.8 assists on 43/36/56 shooting. Just last game against the Golden State Warriors, Jackson put up 20 points, 6 assists, and 2 rebounds on 47% shooting. It's pretty clear that Reggie Jackson is capable of helping command the Nuggets while Jamal Murray is injured, and that's exactly what Denver needs from him.

It's been a roller-coaster career for Reggie Jackson. Just some years ago, he was considering retiring from the NBA before his career rejuvenated with the LA Clippers. Now, he's an NBA Champion that's getting recruited by NBA MVPs.
