Greg Brown Goes Between His Legs for Dunk of the Summer

Incredible as Brown's in-game Eastbay was, those who watched his freshman campaign at the University of Texas or followed his prep career probably weren't all that shocked. The 6-foot-9 forward is one of the most explosive vertical athletes playing the game today.

LeBron James was among the millions on social media buzzing about Brown's dunk.

Trendon Watford, not playing for Portland on Tuesday, was left impressed from his courtside seat, too.

Brown, the No. 46 overall pick in the 2021 draft, posted a maximum vertical leap over 40 inches at the NBA draft combine. His wingspan measured just more than seven feet, too, an exceedingly rare combination of explosion and length that made him a top-10 recruit in the high school Class of 2020.

Brown struggled to acclimate to his new surroundings in Austin, though, playing out of position on the wing as fellow rookies Kai Jones and Jericho Sims manned the inside. Clearly, the wide-open NBA game is a much better fit for his considerable natural gifts.

Brown, still just 19, came into Tuesday's game averaging 8.0 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in Summer League.
