Heat suspend Dewayne Dedmon 1 game over tantrum
Alonzo Adams-USA TODAY Sports

The Miami Heat suspended center Dewayne Dedmon for one game without pay Wednesday night for his on-court tantrum a night earlier that resulted in his ejection.

"The Miami HEAT have, in consultation with the NBA, suspended Dewayne Dedmon for one game without pay for conduct detrimental to the team for actions that took place in the bench area of last night's game vs. the Oklahoma City Thunder," the Heat said in a statement.

The incident occurred in the second quarter of Miami's game against Oklahoma City on Tuesday night. Dedmon got into an argument on the Heat sideline and swatted a massage gun onto the court while play was happening.

He was ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Dedmon recorded two points and three rebounds in five minutes of action for the Heat, who entered the game shorthanded. Dedmon was one of just eight Heat to see action in the win over the Thunder.

Dedmon, 33, is averaging 5.9 points and 3.7 rebounds in 11.7 minutes of action in 29 games for Miami this season.
