James Harden's Former Coach Reveals Harsh Truth About Him

During a recent appearance on NBA Today, ESPN insider and reporter Ohm Youngmisuk revealed a conversation he had with one of James Harden's former coaches.

"As I was told by a source whose coached James Harden in the past, that he was talking to another coach that coached James Harden, and said, 'Listen, James is good until he isn't good.'"

While Youngmisuk did not reveal who he spoke with, this would not be the first time this summer that one of Harden's former coaches said something like this about him.

During an interview with Steve Bulpett of Heavy Sports earlier this summer, former Houston Rockets head coach Kevin McHale spoke on the end of his time with Harden, saying, "The next year he came to camp, he was fat and didn’t feel like playing, and I got fired (11) games into the season. He had a plan."

While this is not to suggest it was McHale speaking with Youngmisuk, it is interesting that Harden's former coaches are speaking on him in this way as the star guard attempts to facilitate a trade from the Philadelphia 76ers to the LA Clippers. As the situation remains unresolved, it's looking more and more likely that the 76ers are indeed willing to let this drag into training camp as they await what they deem an appropriate return for Harden.
