During a recent interview with Steve Bulpett of Heavy Sports, former Houston Rockets head coach Kevin McHale shared his unfiltered thoughts on the current James Harden drama. As Harden attempts to facilitate a trade from the Philadelphia 76ers to the LA Clippers, the star guard has already publicly slammed Daryl Morey for being a liar, which is something that didn't surprise Harden's former coach.

"Yeah, not so much," McHale told Heavy Sports when asked if he was surprised by Harden publicly slamming Morey.

On the situation itself, McHale told Heavy Sports, "James wanted a big extension from Philly, and Philly wouldn’t give it to him, and that’s not a Daryl decision. Daryl’s got a part of that, of course, but that’s an owner decision. So (Harden) was really mad, saying Daryl lied to him, but, you know, maybe they saw Game 7 against the Celtics (9 points on 3-for-11 shooting in a 24-point loss) and said, ‘I’m not interested in that.'"

McHale also spoke on the end of his time with Harden, saying, "The next year he came to camp, he was fat and didn’t feel like playing, and I got fired (11) games into the season. He had a plan."

From the comments in this interview, it seems as if McHale is far from surprised that Harden is again trying to facilitate his way out of his current situation.
