Kendrick Perkins Pleads With Draymond Green To 'Get More Help' After Latest On-Court Incident
Nathan Ray Seebeck-USA TODAY Sports

In a move that brought even Stephen Curry to shame, Draymond Green lashed out against the officials on Wednesday and got himself ejected from the game in a wild outburst. According to ESPN’s Kendrick Perkins, the moment was just another cry for help from Green who clearly hasn’t learned a thing from his suspension earlier this season.

“You’re supposed to get help,” said Perkins on the Pat McAfee show. “You’re supposed to come back a better man. I'm not asking you to change your approach to the game as far as tenacity and passion but you’re supposed to be able to balance the two. If you’re not balancing it, then all of a sudden you might need to go get more help. And help is okay.”

Draymond didn’t like when Kevin Durant told him to “get help” earlier this season, and it’s unlikely that he will feel any differently about this statement from Perkins, even if there is some truth to it.

Draymond has always been known to get mouthy with the refs, and he’s already got the second-most ejections in NBA history. But Green was on a different completely level yesterday and nobody can really explain why. Somehow, he only lasted 3:36 before his epic meltdown and left his team without him for the rest of the game. It's the fourth time this season alone that he’s been ejected from action.

As it happened, both Steph Curry and head coach Steve Kerr were visibly frustrated at Green, who has made a habit out of getting himself kicked out of games recently. Just earlier this season, Dray had to serve an indefinite suspension for a series of aggressive and dangerous plays — and many thought the experience humbled him.

Since coming back, Draymomd has managed to avoid any serious offense but he’s already strirring up trouble for both himself and his teammates. For whatever reason, Green lacks self control on the court and it’s trying the patience of everyone on the team.

Draymond Green’s Future With The Warriors Is Under Doubt

As one of the core members of the original Warriors dynasty, Draymond jas earned the ultimate green light in Golden State and it’s empowered him to challenge everyone, be it opponents on the court, the referees, or even the internet fans.

Normally, the Warriors would look over this behavior and continue to lean on their big three to the very end — but times have changed and Green’s role is no longer what it once was. And now, after a frustrating season both on and off the court, his future has never been more in doubt.

If the Warriors cannot improve, and Draymond doesn’t learn some self control on the court, it could lead to a surprising breakup this summer as GM Mike Dunleavy Jr. looks to build the best team possible for Stephen Curry’s twilight seasons. Nobody is truly off limits in the NBA and even a 4x champion like Draymond could find himself on the move if Golden State gets desperate enough.

For now, the Warriors are still just waiting to see how the season plays out but this is far from the run they had envisioned this year, in what could be one of the last with Klay, Steph, and Draymond together.
