LA Clippers Player Reportedly Open to Joining Phoenix Suns

LA Clippers veteran P.J. Tucker has not played rotation minutes in over two months. Falling out of Ty Lue's rotation after just 12 games with the Clippers, Tucker is reportedly open to moving elsewhere.

Tucker's frustration was first reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic in December, who wrote, "Tucker came to the Clippers in the James Harden trade, and was immediately given a rotation spot off the bench. After being a full-time starter with the Philadelphia 76ers, this bench role was a smaller one than Tucker had become used to, but it was still a spot in the rotation."

In a new article from Gerald Bourguet of PHNX, it was reported that Tucker is open to joining the Phoenix Suns, should he reach free agency via a buyout agreement.

"A source said Tucker would definitely be interested in joining the Suns after a potential buyout, and his $11 million contract fits just under the threshold that Phoenix can sign for buyout players (as a team in the second tax apron, the Suns can sign any player on the buyout market as long as their contract was $12.4 million or less prior to being bought out)," Bourguet wrote.

If Tucker is willing to give back some of what he is owed next season, perhaps the Clippers would be open to negotiating a buyout, clearing the way for him to sign with Phoenix or a different team.
