The Lakers are working out free agent guard/forward Shabazz Muhammad as they seek some veteran help, as relayed by Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
Muhammad, 29, is 6-foot-6 and was selected with the No. 14 overall pick in 2013. He last played in the NBA during the 2017-18 season, when he appeared in 11 games with the Bucks. He spent his first five NBA seasons with the Timberwolves.
Since then he has played in China, the G League and the Philippines. In March, he recorded a 57-point, 19-rebound game for San Miguel Beermen of the Philippine Basketball Association.
As we’ve relayed, Muhammad recently worked out for the Kings.
The Lakers are also taking a look at several other veteran free agents, Scotto reported. They have already added Damian Jones, Lonnie Walker, Troy Brown, Thomas Bryant and Juan Toscano-Anderson in free agency. Malik Monk, however, left for Sacramento.
