Los Angeles Lakers Release Former NBA 1st-Round Pick

On Saturday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers will host the Denver Nuggets in California.

Before the game, the team announced that they had signed Harry Giles to a two-way contract, and they waived Dylan Windler in order to make room on the roster.

Windler signed with the Lakers in January and averaged 1.5 points per contest in eight games.

He has also appeared in three games with the New York Knicks this season.

Windler has played well in the G League this season and had a game where he put up an incredible 23 points and 33 rebounds.

The 27-year-old was initially the 26th pick in the 2019 NBA Draft out of Belmont and is in his fourth season in the league (he spent his first three seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers).

Windler has career averages of 3.1 points and 2.1 rebounds per contest while shooting 41.7% from the field and 33.3% from the three-point range in 95 regular season games.

As for the Lakers, they are the tenth seed in the Western Conference with a 33-28 record in 61 games.

They are in the middle of a two-game winning streak and are 7-3 over their last ten games.

Most recently, the Lakers beat the Washington Wizards by a score of 134-131 (in overtime).

Following Saturday's showdown with the Nuggets, they will remain at home to host Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday evening.
