Mavs Officially Acquire Richaun Holmes, Olivier-Maxence Prosper From Kings
Sergio Estrada-USA TODAY Sports

The Mavericks and Kings have officially finalized a trade that is sending center/forward Richaun Holmes and rookie guard/forward Olivier-Maxence Prosper from Sacramento to Dallas.

Holmes, 29, saw his playing time decrease dramatically after the Kings acquired Domantas Sabonis a year-and-a-half ago, averaging a career-low 8.1 minutes a game this past season. He is due $12 million next season and has a $12.8 million player option for 2024-25.

Prosper, 21, was selected with the No. 24 overall pick. He reportedly had strong showings at both the NBA Combine in Chicago and individual team workouts, moving him into the first round.

Holmes is likely to see an increase in opportunity with Dallas, which also acquired former Duke center Dereck Lively II with the No. 12 overall selection.

Given that this was a salary dump for the Kings, they received only cash considerations in return.
