The Mavericks have signed No. 24 overall pick Olivier-Maxence Prosper to his rookie-scale contract, the team announced in a press release.
Prosper was the final first-rounder to sign, and all 30 picks have now officially reached contracts with their team.
Granted, these are mostly formalities, as rookies are drafted into financial slots, depending on where they are picked. So we haven’t had a rookie contract holdout in ages.
Prosper, 21, is a 6-foot-8 power forward and native of Canada. He reportedly had strong showings at both the NBA Combine in Chicago and individual team workouts, moving him into the first round.
He was actually drafted by the Kings, then traded to the Mavericks on draft night, along with veteran forward/center Richaun Holmes.
“O-Max was considered one of the best wing defenders in college basketball last year and plays with tremendous energy,” Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison said. “We are excited to put pen to paper and officially sign him.”
