Minnesota Timberwolves Officially Sign 8-Year NBA Veteran

On Thursday evening, the Minnesota Timberwolves  will face off against the Indiana Pacers in Indianapolis.

Before the game (on Wednesday), the team announced that they had signed T.J. Warren to a 10-day contract.

Warren most recently played in the NBA during the 2022-23 season when he appeared in 42 games for the Phoenix Suns and Brooklyn Nets (he also played in six playoff games with Phoenix). 

The former NC State star averaged 7.5 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.0 assists per contest while shooting 48.9% from the field and 32.8% from the three-point range.  

Warren was the 14th pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, and this will be his ninth season in the league.  

In addition to the Suns and Nets, he has also played for the Indiana Pacers. 

His career averages 14.6 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists per contest while shooting 50.6% from the field and 35.4% from the three-point range in 374 games. 

He has also appeared in ten NBA playoff games (four starts). 

As for the Timberwolves, they have had an excellent season and are the first seed in the Western Conference with a 43-19 record in 62 games. 

They have gone 7-3 over their last ten games and most recently beat the Portland Trail Blazers by a score of 119-114.

The Timberwolves have made the NBA playoffs in each of the previous two seasons, and are coming off a year where they lost to the Denver Nuggets in the first round.
