Despite annual predictions of their decline, the Golden State Warriors, led by Steve Kerr, relentlessly disprove doubters. This NBA season appears no different, even amidst their struggles, particularly on their home court.

Yet, they remain contenders for a playoff spot. Their recent commanding victory over the Los Angeles Lakers has reignited belief in their potential.

On ESPN’s “First Take,” Stephen A. Smith emphasized that the Warriors’ three wins in four games against the Lakers this season could be pivotal if they face each other in the Play-In Tournament.

Currently just half a game behind the Lakers, the Warriors are poised to potentially secure home-court advantage or even overtake the Sacramento Kings for the eighth seed in the Western Conference. This positioning would afford them two opportunities to clinch a playoff berth.

While Smith conceded that the Warriors might not be equipped to overcome top contenders like the Denver Nuggets, he highlighted their timely resurgence.

Facing less experienced teams such as the Oklahoma City Thunder or Minnesota Timberwolves in the playoffs could be to their advantage.

Although not at their historical best, the trio of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green is well-known for elevating their game when it matters most in the postseason. Their proven track record in high-stakes games continues to make them a formidable force not to be underestimated.
