The NBA has postponed the Washington Wizards’ Las Vegas Summer League opener against the Indiana Pacers due to Health and Safety Protocols. Due to ongoing contact tracing the Wizards don’t have enough available players to proceed with the game, the league announced.

Three Wizards players — Cassius Winston, Issuf Sanon and Isaiah Todd — were placed in Health and Safety Protocols on Saturday. It appears the situation is more widespread.

Washington had a total of 17 players on the summer league roster. That included this year’s draft picks Todd and 15th pick overall Corey Kispert. However, their professional debuts have been put on hold due to COVID-19 protocols.

This isn’t the first time the Wizards organization has dealt with COVID-19 protocols. Last season, the Wizards had seven players test positive for COVID-19, resulting in six regular season games being postponed. Washington was essentially shut down for 13 days before resuming their season.

Last month, three-time All-Star Bradley Beal tested positive for COVID-19, resulting in him being removed from Team USA and unable to participate in the Tokyo Olympics.
