NYPD releases footage of suspects in $750K Derrick Williams jewelry case

The New York Police Department has released footage of two women suspected to have stolen $750,000 worth of jewelry from New York Knicks forward Derrick Williams.

Police released the tape on Wednesday of two possible suspects in the theft leaving the Up & Down club in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District on Dec. 19. Williams had been at the club all night celebrating the team’s 107-97 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Dec. 18.

According to police, Williams then went home with the two women and noticed his jewelry was missing after they had left the following afternoon.

Among the missing items were a $145,000 Audemars Piguet watch, four Rolexes and a diamond chain with the Hennessy logo.

Williams has had very little to say publicly about the incident.

"I don’t want to talk about it," Williams said after the Dec. 19 Knicks’ 107-91 win over the Bulls. "It’s still up in the air."

Williams, the second overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft and now on his third NBA team, is averaging 7.3 points per game in less than 14 minutes a night for the Knicks this season.
