Paul Pierce Proposes LeBron James Trade To Cleveland Cavaliers To Play With Bronny James – But On One Condition
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

It’s no secret LeBron James will play out the final year of his career with his son, Bronny. For Paul Pierce, though, the All-Star forward can do just that with the Cleveland Cavaliers if this one condition is met sooner than later.

Back in 2022, James said that before he retired from the NBA, he wanted to play one season with Bronny as a pro. Since then, the King’s son has transitioned from playing high school basketball to suiting up for the USC Trojans during the recent NCAA Tournament.

But instead of putting up an NBA-worthy run in college basketball, Bronny James mostly underwhelmed. Over the course of 25 games, he posted averages of 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists. The younger James also shot an abysmal 36.6 percent from the field, 26.7 percent from deep, and 67.6 from the free throw line.

LeBron James, meanwhile, has consistently struggled to lift the Los Angeles Lakers to a top-five finish during the regular season for the past few years. After winning the championship inside the Bubble in 2020, James’ Lakers haven’t made their way back to the Finals since then. This year is more of the same as Los Angeles is projected to fall to the Play-In Tournament to make their way back to the playoffs.

Paul Pierce’s Trade Idea For LeBron James to Play With Bronny For Cleveland Cavaliers

In the event James and the Lakers fail to make the postseason, there’s a way for the King to play with Bronny in Cleveland, the team that drafted him back in 2003. According to Pierce in a video posted by ClutchPoints on X, the Cavs can make a run for the King if Los Angeles doesn’t make the playoffs:

Dealing Mitchell for James and drafting Bronny at the same time will potentially shake up the league. As of now, the current Cavs team are on a slump after sliding down in the standings from the third seed in the East.

This trade can only happen if both the Lakers and Cavaliers disappoint in the coming weeks. If this happens, there’s no better conclusion for James’ career than to play with his son for a team that holds so much importance to him.
