Reggie Jackson to return to Clippers on two-year, $22 million deal

Reggie Jackson plans to return to the Los Angeles Clippers on a two-year, $22 million deal, his agents confirmed to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Re-signing Jackson was a top priority this summer, Wojnarowski adds, and the contract is the maximum amount of money the Clippers could offer him in accordance with the league's collective bargaining agreement.

His contract will not contain a team or player option in the second year, according to USA Today's Mark Medina.

Jackson averaged 10.7 points, 3.1 assists and 2.9 rebounds last season while shooting 45% from the field and 43.3% from deep. He was also important in L.A.'s run to its first-ever conference finals, averaging 17.8 points per game in 19 playoff contests.

The 31-year-old is the third significant return for the Clippers this summer, joining Nicolas Batum and Serge Ibaka.

However, L.A. is still waiting on a commitment from superstar Kawhi Leonard, who turned down his $36 million player option to become a free agent this offseason. He is likely to remain with the franchise but will miss time after having surgery to repair a partially torn ACL.

The Clippers first acquired Jackson midway through the 2019-20 season after he was bought out by the Detroit Pistons.
