Sacramento Kings: Domantas Sabonis Reaches Wilt Chamberlain Level After Crazy Feat
Darren Yamashita-USA TODAY Sports

Domantas Sabonis recently made history when he made the longest consecutive streak of double-doubles in the NBA. The Sacramento Kings’ star isn’t done, though, as he has now reached a level only Wilt Chamberlain has done in league history.

In a recent game between the Kings and the Utah Jazz, the former got the 127-106 win in their own home court. De’Aaron Fox showed off by dropping 24 points and 12 assists in 36 minutes on the court. For his part, Sabonis ended the night with a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds. Furthermore, Harrison Barnes and Keegan Murray added 24 and 25 points, respectively.

The Jazz, on the other hand, were led by Brice Sensabaugh and Collin Sexton with 22 points each. Utah rookies Taylor Hendricks and Keyonte George both added 18 points, respectively, in their team’s loss at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento.

This is the Kings’ 43rd win of the season to go along with 31 losses. At this point in time, they now hold the seventh seed in the Western Conference while the Utah Jazz are projected to miss the playoffs with their 29-46 record.

Sacramento Kings Domantas Sabonis Joins Wilt Chamberlain As Only Two Players To Reach This Record

After the game, Sabonis’ stats helped him reach a record only NBA legend Wilt Chamberlain has done before. In a post shared by StatMuse on X:

Over the course of 74 games this season, Sabonis is averaging 19.6 points on 60 percent shooting from the field, 39 percent from beyond the arc, and 70 percent from the free throw line. He’s also leading the league in rebounds with 13.6 per contest, to go along with his 8.3 assists.

Sabonis’ performance this season has been a boon for Sacramento, especially since the team is aiming to make a meaningful run in the playoffs. Add the fact that he and Chamberlain are the only two players to make that kind of record, and the Kings are looking more dangerous in the coming weeks.
