Should The Los Angeles Lakers Sign This 11-Year NBA Veteran?

Barton is a free agent after spending last season with the Washington Wizards and Toronto Raptors.

The 11-year NBA veteran averaged 6.8 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists per contest while shooting 37.9% from the field and 36.7% from the three-point range in 56 games.

While he is no longer in his prime, the 32-year-old has significant experience being a role player on good teams. 

Barton has made the NBA playoffs four times and averaged at least 11.5 points per contest in seven out of his 11 seasons (he has also played with other superstars such as Damian Lillard and Nikola Jokic). 

For his career, Barton has shot 43.0% from the field and 35.5% from the three-point range, and he has been known as a solid defender. 

The former 2nd-round pick could be the spark the Lakers' bench needs in the short term. 

With the loss to the 76ers, the Lakers dropped to 10-8 in their first 18 games, which has them as the eighth seed in the Western Conference. 

They will play their next game against Cade Cunningham and the Detroit Pistons in Michigan on Wednesday evening.
