'Straight cash!' Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes STUNNED by Max Strus’ unreal buzzer-beater against the Mavs
David Richard-USA TODAY Sports

On Tuesday, the Dallas Mavericks played against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The ending of the game will be talked about for years from now. Max Strus‘ beyond-the-logo buzzer-beater shot won the game for the Cavs. Everyone from the NBA world was shaken at the nail-biting win.

It seems as if the NBA world was not the only one who loved the play. NFL stars and fresh Super Bowl winners, the Kansas City Chiefs Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce were also excited by the ending. Both the players shared their reaction on X to the unreal moment.

Kelce’s partner in crime, Mahomes, was bewildered by the game-winning shot and wrote on X,

Ain’t no way

Kelce, who is from Cleveland, reacted to Mahomes’ tweet and wrote,

Straight cash!! Them boys got the juice right now!!

The Cavaliers were leading by one point. That is when P.J. Washington scored for the Mavericks with less than three seconds left. The Cavs were out of time-outs, and Max Strus took a risk and shot the ball from beyond the half-court in the final second and won the game. The whole arena was electric after the shot. NBA fans were shaken as the game changed twice in the span of 3 seconds.

Both Mahomes and Kelce are fans of basketball and have seen attending NBA games. Mahomes supports the Dallas Mavericks, as the player has previously mentioned, being a fan of Dirk Nowitzki growing up. Back in May 2023, Kelce was also seen at the Philadelphia 76ers vs. the Boston Celtics game with his brother Jason Kelce.

Cleveland Cavaliers are honoring Travis and Jason Kelce

NFL brother duo Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce are originally from Cleveland, Ohio. The brothers were born and raised in Cleveland Heights. But Jason was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2011 and Travis was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2013.

They both have been playing for their respective teams ever since. But the brothers played high school football at Cleveland Heights and for the Cincinnati Bearcats in college. To honor the contribution to the city of Cleveland, the Cavs fans will be given the Kelce brothers bobblehead.

Selected fans in attendance against the game with Boston Celtics on March 5, will receive a limited edition of Kelce brothers’ bobblehead. The bobbleheads will be in the Cavs jersey with their respective NFL jersey numbers.
