Timberwolves Signing TJ Warren For Remainder Of Season
Rob Gray-USA TODAY Sports

The Minnesota Timberwolves are signing small forward T.J. Warren for the rest of the season following the expiration of his second 10-day contract on Monday, per Shams Charania and Jon Krawczyski of The Athletic.

Warren, 30, is 6-foot-8 and has appeared in seven games since first signing with Minnesota back on March 6. He is averaging 4.1 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists in those games.

Warren split last season with the Brooklyn Nets and Phoenix Suns, averaging 7.5 points. His two best seasons came with the Indiana Pacers in the 2019 and 2020 seasons, though a serious foot injury sidelined him for all of 2021-22.

He really hasn’t been the same since, though he gives Minnesota another veteran off the bench who’s capable of the occasional big scoring night.

The Timberwolves (49-22) enter Tuesday night in third place in the Western Conference, just 1.5 games behind the top-seeded Denver Nuggets.
