Unexpected Nuggets Player Makes History vs LA Clippers
USA TODAY Sports

Reggie Jackson was an absolute monster against the LA Clippers. For one night, he arguably looked like the best point guard in the NBA, and did something not even Jamal Murray could do.

Against the Clippers on Monday night, Reggie Jackson put up 35 points, 13 assists, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals on 15/19 (79%) shooting. He did it all while only having 2 turnovers in 40 minutes. In fact, Reggie Jackson was the first player since the NBA began tracking turnovers to put up a game of 35 points, 13 assists, on 75% FGs, with less than two turnovers.

Jamal Murray has never had a game of 35 points and 10+ assists in his career. Reggie Jackson has only had two games of 30 points and 10 assists in his career. All the stars aligned for Jackson tonight. He faced his former team for the first time in LA since being traded, had his tribute video, and had a historic performance.

Just last season, Reggie Jackson found himself outside of the rotation for the Denver Nuggets. Less than a year later, he's leading them to very important wins while Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray are out due to injury. It's an important reminder to not be so impatient with NBA players. Sometimes, it takes more than a season for a player to truly find their role and fit on a team.
