Warriors star Draymond Green out next two games, could miss rest of road trip?

The Golden State Warriors (30-10) may still hold the second-best record in the NBA, but they are fresh off a loss to the Memphis Grizzlies and face a few more tough tasks on the road in the next four days. The Dubs have played their last two games without one of their most valuable players, and it seems like they'll have to continue to do so through the rest of the week.

Buried beneath the emotional and successful return of star shooting guard Klay Thompson on Sunday night was the news that Green had injured his left calf during pregame warmups. In recognition of Thompson's much-anticipated return, the Michigan State product was on the court for the opening moments of the contest, but was then removed for the remainder of the night.

Golden State took care of the Cleveland Cavaliers that night, but was unable to tame the quickly ascending star Ja Morant in Memphis on Tuesday. The Warriors face the defending-champion Milwaukee Bucks (26-17) at 7:30 p.m. ET on Thursday, the Eastern Conference-best Chicago Bulls (27-11) at 7:30 p.m. ET on Friday and the talented Minnesota Timberwolves (20-21) at 8 p.m. ET on Sunday — all on the road.

Stephen Curry and company will then return to the Chase Center to begin a seven-game homestand on Tuesday.

In his 10th NBA season, Green is averaging a Draymond-like 7.9 points, 7.6 rebounds, 7.4 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.2 blocks per game across 34 contests. Green has put quality over quantity into his shot selection thus far this season with just 5.9 field-goal attempts per game — his lowest in eight years — but has been converting at a career-best 53.7 percent clip.
