Will the Hornets Move Off a Contract Ahead of Waiver Deadline?

The Hornets have until today at 5 p.m. EST to make a decision on Ish Smith, JT Thor, and Frank Ntilikina.

What do I mean by that? 

Well, all three of them have partially guaranteed contracts and if they are not waived by today's deadline, the Hornets will be on the books for the full contract. Frank Ntilikina  will be owed $2,019,706, Ish Smith - $2,019,706, and JT Thor - $1,836,096.

The Hornets are not expected to move on from any of the three players despite none of them being huge contributors at this point in time for the organization. 

Ntilikina has yet to make his regular season debut after fracturing his left tibia in a preseason game and his return to play his uncertain. Ish Smith has provided stability off the bench at the guard spot with all of the other injuries in the backcourt and has once again, played the role of a mentor to a young group. And Thor is averaging roughly 14.5 minutes per game off the bench.
