49ers' George Kittle: 'If my body says I can go, I'll be out there'

San Francisco 49ers All-Pro tight end George Kittle has been dealing with a calf injury that kept him out of previous midweek practices, but general manager John Lynch said earlier on Friday that the top-tier target is "a hard guy to keep off the field" as he works to return for Sunday's matchup against the 1-2 Seattle Seahawks.

Kittle is officially listed as questionable heading into the weekend, but he left little doubt while speaking with reporters later in the day he'll be on the field if it's at all possible.

"Dealing with some swelling, little pain and doing what we can to make sure I’m available Sunday," he explained about his setback, per Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk. "I’m going to do everything I can to be on the field Sunday. If my body says I can go, I’ll be out there."

According to ESPN stats, Kittle ended San Francisco's three September games second on the team with 15 receptions, 18 targets, 187 receiving yards and 12.5 yards per catch.

The 49ers began the campaign with back-to-back wins before dropping a nail-biter to Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers last Sunday.
