The Las Vegas Raiders cut a veteran quarterback from their roster hours after a report surfaced that the team would potentially meet with Super Bowl-winning quarterback Russell Wilson. The Raiders are looking at several quarterback options this offseason.
The Raiders are tied with the Minnesota Vikings in sports bettors odds to trade for Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields. The Raiders are also reportedly interested in trading up in the first round of the draft to take a quarterback.
With multiple options in the works, the Raiders opened a position in the quarterback room. Per Adam Schefter with ESPN, the Raiders cut Brian Hoyer.

The Raiders brought in Hoyer last season to run the offense of then-head coach Josh McDaniels. Hoyer had a couple of stints with the New England Patriots when McDaniels was there.
Hoyer started in one game for the Raiders when they lost 30-12 to the Chicago Bears. Hoyer was 17-32 for 129 yards and two interceptions in the loss.
