Arizona Cardinals sign USFL RB Stevie Scott
Diannie Chavez/The Republic / USA TODAY NETWORK

After losing Marlon Mack to a torn Achilles, the Arizona Cardinals are giving USFL RB Stevie Scott a chance to compete for the number two spot behind James Conner.

In his second season with the Michigan Panthers, Scott recorded 295 rushing yards and a touchdown.

But before playing in the USFL, Stevie Scott was an excellent running back at Indiana University. During his three years there, Scott earned All-Big Ten honors twice while piling up 2,543 yards and 30 touchdowns.

Stevie Scott also spent a brief period of time with the Broncos last August. However, the 23-year-old was quickly cut after just 13 days on the roster.

As for the Cardinals, with Keaontay Ingram still out due to an undisclosed injury, they are still in search of a number two man.

This is not their first time signing a former USFL player, either. Last season around this time, the Cardinals took a chance on WR Victor Bolden. Unfortunately, injuries would stain Bolden’s time with the Cardinals, leading to his release a month later.
