Former President Barack Obama knows something about winning back-to-back contests. Obama defeated John McCain in the 2008 election and Mitt Romney in the 2012 election to win the Presidency twice. Obama sent the Kansas City Chiefs a message after they won their second-straight Super Bowl on Sunday night.
The Chiefs didn’t make it easy for themselves. They trailed by double digits against the Philadelphia Eagles in last year’s Super Bowl and against the 49ers on Sunday. But they ultimately finished strong in both games to win their third Super Bowl in five seasons.
Obama sent a message on X to the Chiefs on Sunday night after they prevailed in overtime:
Congrats to the Kansas City @Chiefs , MVP Patrick Mahomes, Coach Reid, Travis Kelce, Chris Jones, Mecole Hardman, and the rest of the champs for another Lombardi Trophy. Grace under pressure.

Obama was one of several Democrat politicians to send the Chiefs a statement following their win. President Joe Biden announced he was inviting the Chiefs back to the White House to celebrate their victory. Vice President Kamala Harris, who was cheering for the 49ers Sunday, called the Chiefs “a force” and said their play was an “inspiration” to those watching.
Biden and Harris will try to join Obama in winning back-to-back elections when he goes up against Donald Trump in November.
Does the Biden administration have grace under pressure?
