Bolts Land Jets Executive as Assistant GM
USA TODAY Sports

Just days after officially introducing general manager Joe Hotriz, the Los Angeles Chargers are now bringing in an assistant GM who will work in tandem with Hortiz.

According to Connor Hughes, the Chargers are bringing in former New York Jets director of player personnel, Chad Alexander.

Alexander has ties to Hortiz, as he also spent two decades working with the Baltimore Ravens as an executive, eventually leading to an assistant director of player personnel role with the team.

As part of the Jets, he was part of the scouting team that brought in Garrett Wilson and Sauce Gardner, both of whom won offensive and defensive Rookie of the Year honors.

Alexander will now be working closely with Horitz to bring together a new and young team that can take the Chargers into a new era. With Harbaugh, Horitz, and Alexander on the staff, this could be the biggest coaching and front-office staff that the team has ever seen.

There is plenty of work to be done on both sides of the ball, but it appears that the Spanos family has come together to allow Harbaugh and Horitz to hire the right people to ensure the team returns to its AFC dominance.
