Broncos, Browns, Dolphins all eliminated from AFC playoff contention

The AFC playoff picture became a whole lot clearer with the late afternoon slate of Week 17 contests.

Heading into the slew of 1 p.m. ET kickoffs, only the Kansas City Chiefs had secured a postseason berth in the AFC. Following the early games, the Cincinnati Bengals, Tennessee Titans, New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills all clinched spots in the expanded field.

The Broncos were eliminated after falling to the Los Angeles Chargers 34-13, the Dolphins lost earlier in the day to the Titans and while they don't play until Monday night, the Browns were knocked out by virtue of Los Angeles' victory over Denver. Per NFL Network's Andrew Siciliano, the Pittsburgh Steelers would be mathematically eliminated with a loss on Monday against Cleveland.

If the Steelers win in what could be quarterback Ben Roethlisberger's final home start, they would still be alive heading into Week 18. There are four other teams in the AFC still battling for the final two spots in the bracket.

Cleveland and Pittsburgh are scheduled to play at 8:15 p.m. ET on Monday.
