Broncos sign RB Marlon Mack off 49ers' practice squad
Maria Lysaker-USA TODAY Sports

The San Francisco 49ers have lost a running back. The Denver Broncos announced they have signed Marlon Mack from the Niners' practice squad to their active roster.

San Francisco signed Mack to the practice squad on September 14. He has been active for two games since, including the 49ers' Week 3 contest against the Broncos. Mack was also active the next week against the Los Angeles Rams.

The Indianapolis Colts made Mack a fourth-round draft pick in 2017. He has registered 2,484 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns in his six NFL seasons while adding 57 receptions for 448 yards and two receiving touchdowns.

Mack's best statistical season came with the Colts in 2019, when he recorded 1,091 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on 247 carries. That followed a 2018 campaign where he carried the ball 195 times for 908 yards and nine rushing scores.

Mack has appeared in only eight games since suffering a torn Achilles during Week 1 of the 2020 season.
