Browns can make an Ohio State Buckeye happy far beyond football if they select him in the 2024 NFL Draft
Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

The NFL Draft is just about here and it’ll be an event that changes the lives of many young adults and their families forever.

For some, it has the chance to be even more special.

Ohio State DT Michael Hall Jr. grew up in Northeast Ohio and the Cleveland Browns are a team that he could hear call his name this week. Hall spoke exclusively with A to Z Sports about what it would mean to be drafted by the Browns.

“I mean, I feel like that'd be a great opportunity for sure,” Hall said on the possible opportunity to join the Browns. “Just to be able to not move and on draft day to get that call if it was the Cleveland Browns. But you know, I'm very blessed to even be in the draft. And no matter where I get picked, you know, I'm blessed to be there.“

Hall didn’t hold back from the fact that he would be thrilled if the Browns selected him. If Cleveland wants to, they’ll likely have to spend their No. 54 overall pick to take him in the second round. The Browns are one of multiple to have a top-30 visit with the Ohio State product.

The ability to get after the passer from the interior is the attractive thing that brings the Browns to a player like Hall. Hall totaled six sacks at Ohio State over the final two seasons there and 4.5 came as a sophomore in 2022.

Cleveland took Siaki Ika in the middle rounds last year and he has a chance to develop as a run-stopper for the team. Past him and Dalvin Tomlinson, the Browns have a few one-year contracts at defensive tackle handed out. It is hard to come into the NFL and contribute in the middle right away. Cleveland won’t need Hall to be more than a rotational piece in his rookie season.

The Browns have a chance to bring things full circle and bring Hall back home with pick No. 54, we’ll see what they do.
