Buccaneers Starting Corner Set to Play on Sunday, Two Others Are Elevated
USA TODAY Sports

The Buccaneers starting Nickel Cornerback Christian Izien has been cleared from the concussion protocol per BucsGameday's JC Allen:

Izien was an undrafted free agent out of Rutgers and won the nickel job in training camp. In his debut against the Minnesota Vikings, he grabbed his first career interception and only allowed 4 catches for 18 yards.

With Carlton Davis missing the game with a toe injury and Calijah Kancey out with a lingering calf injury, the Buccaneers will need all the health they can get on the defensive side of the ball.

Izien was in a non-contact jersey at the beginning of the practice week and by Friday was listed as a full participant in practice.

The Buccaneers also elevated two players from their practice squad.

The Buccaneers are elevating two defensive players with the two starters out and they will also be missing SirVocea Dennis who is out with a hamstring injury.

The Bears will likely be missing their starting right guard Nate Davis who signed in the off-season after starting 4 seasons for the Tennesse Titans.

Chicago has struggled to keep Justin Fields protected and Davis was one of the two big investments they made along the offensive line, along with first-round pick Darnell Wright.
