The Buffalo Bills cornerback room struggled a bit last year, dealing with multiple injuries and just very poor play at times. Kaiir Elam, Christian Benford, and Dane Jackson all went down during the season. Meanwhile, we didn’t see Tre White return until the back half of the year. This year, they’ve done their fair share at upgrading the position, adding rookie Alex Austin and former Viking Cam Dantzler. With another full off-season of recovery for White, we could see the bounce back season that we’ve all been waiting for. Let’s take a deep dive at exactly what the Bills have at the position.
Tre White: First team All-Pro (2019), 299 total tackles, 17 interceptions, 66 passes defended, and five forced fumbles since entering the league in 2017.
Tre’Davious White has appeared more confident each day we’ve seen him practice this spring. Signs pointing toward a rebound season for the #Bills No. 1 CB. @Batavia_Daily https://t.co/LN8W0O8HpK pic.twitter.com/ipK8Lgs2Us

Christian Benford: 24 tackles, five passes defended, one INT in his rookie season.
Kaiir Elam: 41 tackles, four passes defended, one INT.
Dane Jackson: 78 tackles, 17 passes defended, two INTs since entering the league in 2020.
The Buffalo Bills seem to find their best players late in the draft/UDFA, especially at CB. Since coming to Buffalo, Brandon Beane has found meaningful contributors in Levi Wallace (UDFA), Christian Benford (sixth), and Dane Jackson (seventh). Could Alex Austin be Beane’s next late round gem?
Last year, Austin totaled 43 tackles, two INTs, and two passes defended. In his four year career with the Oregon State Beavers, he totaled 141 tackles, four INTs, 20 passes defended, and one INT. Fun fact about Austin: he doubled as a WR and also returned kicks in his collegiate career. He could make the team in a special teams role if he shines there.
Final 53: Tre White, Dane Jackson, Kaiir Elam, Christian Benford, Taron Johnson, Siran Neal, Alex Austin
Practice Squad: Cam Dantzler
