Cardinals' Kyler Murray on contract extension: 'This is where I want to be'

One day after inking a monster five-year, $230.5 million contract extension , Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray met with media members on Friday to discuss the deal.

The two-time Pro Bowler talked about his doubters, his goals and what he feels he needs to improve on moving forward. Murray also dismissed the idea of potentially departing the Cardinals that circulated earlier in the offseason.

Murray had a dramatic start to the offseason, when he infamously scrubbed his social media accounts of any mentions of the organization. Things eventually settled down, and the mobile threat had been expected to reach an agreement with the franchise that drafted him first overall three years ago for a while now.

Rookies reported to Arizona's training camp on Thursday, while Murray and other non-first-year players are scheduled to arrive on Tuesday. It was reported last week that an extension for the signal-caller coming before training camp was "a very reasonable likelihood."

The 24-year-old finished last season with a career-best 69.2% completion percentage, to go with 3,787 passing yards, 24 touchdown passes and 10 interceptions across 14 games. Murray added 88 rushing attempts for 423 yards and five touchdowns as well.
